It was a fun stop on a day full of wine tasting. The tasting is free (be sure to leave a tip), and the drinks at the bar were delicious and only about $6 each! They took time to zest lemons and all that. Compared to the price we pay for drinks like that in Chicago, this place is a steal! Very interesting and unique set of liquors, I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

What fun! This wasn't even on our radar during our winery tour but was recommended to us by the previous winery during our tasting. Really glad we stopped here. Our "bartender" was so entertaining and did an excellent job of thoroughly educating our group on all of the wonderful spirits and liqueurs they offer. We ended up sampling most of them and walked out of there with several bottles each. Highlights were definitely the Horseradish Vodka, Northern Roots Ginger Liqueur, Jack Pine Gin and the Mackinac Island Fudge liqueur - yumm! Probably should have bought more. I thought the prices were reasonable especially considering the unique flavor profiles.

Stopped here over the weekend on a whim. We passed by it in the car and decided to make a quick U-turn to try it out, glad we did! First off, they have a gluten free vodka that is not made from potatoes, or from grapes like some of them. Their Deer Camp Vodka is made from Sugar Beets and was pretty good. We tasted everything they had, for free by the way, and ended up walking out with a killer Horseradish Vodka which I think will go great in some Bloody Mary's and also the Mackinac Island Fudge Liqueur which OMG tasted like you were drinking Hershey Syrup straight from the bottle! Their tasting bar is big and can easily handle about 20 people at a time. Then if you want an actual drink, they have a full bar right next to it where they will make you whatever you want using their spirits! Glad we decided to stop at this place and will come back soon!

It was such a shame that we only had a few moments to visit Northern Latitudes on our way to Traverse City. I feel that it is a destination that requires more time to get to know well. We were very impressed by both the friendliness of the staff and the selection of products available to try and to purchase. Next time we are in the area I will definitely budget more time to get to know Northern Latitudes on a more detailed level.

My fella wanted to check out Lake Leelenau so we decided to go for a drive. There isn't much to that town but this new distillery makes the visit worth it! It's a cool space for one--with a tasting counter (5 tastes for free!), a bit of a shop (with their spirits along with spirit accessories) and a cocktail counter where you can order craft beverages made with their booze. They don't have food but encourage you to pick something up in town and bring it back there for food and bevvys. It was early in the afternoon for me so I didn't go for a full on cocktail but who can say no to a tasting?! They distill the following (stars next to those I tried): Manitou Passage Rum*, Mackinac Island Fudge Liqueur*, Apollo Horseradish Vodka, Jack Pine Gin*, Limoncello di Leelanau,* Ice Dunes Vodka, Deer Camp Whiskey, and Northern Roots Ginger Liqueur.* Everything I tasted was fantastic. The standouts were the Ginger Liquor (which I was afraid would be too much ginger but was just the right amount), the Fudge Liqueu (because, duh), and the rum which I had in the world's smallest pina colada (seriously, if you're going to get a full drink get that one). My fella and I also really liked the gin. He even went and got a full gin and tonic and we picked up a bottle of that to take home. Floral and lovely. Makes a great G&T (we made them when we got home). They recommend a bit of orange instead of lime with their blend and it compliments it nicely. The only bad thing? They don't distribute yet! So if you go, be sure to stock up since right now this is the only place you can get these delectable spirits.

I didn't know what to expect for liquor distillery and had meager expectations. Blown away! Our bartender did a superb job of explaining the different liquors and kept it fun. Hubby and I both tasted different liquors and managed to give each other tiny winy sips. They were all very good and clean and it really comes down to preference. The standouts: The dune vodka: rarely vodka has a taste and some burn. This was flavorful but light. (No raw burn) The horseradish vodka. Wow! You have to like horseradish to prob enjoy. But if you don't know, give this one a try for sure. I can hardly wait to make a football season Bloody Mary! Gin: floral and pine flavors w/ a style close to London dry than your floral Bombay Sapphire. The Ginger was unique and we believe will make an excellent Moscow mule! Chocolate. It tastes like a fudgesicle with a kick. A nice add to this area! We'll be back next year!

Well well well... Hello distillery. How I love your beautiful liquors and the warm taste they leave in my belly. Your unique cocktails that make me beg for me, though having to bike after drinking is very interesting....... So let me start this off. This place is a-w-e-s-o-m-e. They start you off with what they have to offer-which is a lot...and that's impressive. I wasn't expecting to try rum, whiskey (bourbon), vodka, chocolate liquer...I mean hey-oh. Hook a girl up. Went in on a Monday, not a lot of people so we had a great time with the owners. Once we were finished with our tasting, we snuck over to the other side of the bar for some mixed beverages. They make some delicious cocktails. I had heard from my friend, Amanda B. that they were phenomenal but I wasn't expecting such succulent liquor to be mixed so appropriately and innovative that I think I drooled while watching them being made. Just saying. After enjoying a few cocktails with some pretzels we headed out....with some booty...a few bottles to bring back to Indy to share with our special loved ones. Next time I am up here, I am going here again!!!!! and again...and maybe a few more times.

The liquors here were all very tasty, it was definitely a nice break in the middle of our wine tour but they didn't have any whiskey and as a whiskey girl I was a little disappointed.

If you are in the area this is a must stop if you want to visit a well designed Small Batch distillery. You can see the stills and Mark will explain their production. The inside and the bars are decorated with beautiful local wood. They offer free tastings along with a description of each flavor, bottle sales, and cocktails mixed from their spirits for a reasonable price. We tried several of their offerings and they were all good but, our favorite was the Mackinac Island fudge chocolate liqueur. Tastes like a fudgesicle with a punch. We took a bottle with us for later.

Northern Latitudes was really awesome. As soon as we walked in one of the workers was directing us to the tasting bar. He gave us an explanation of all they had to offer and we each got to try 4 of them. They really had something for everyone. There were two regular vodkas, horseradish vodka, gin, limoncello, bourbon, rum and ginger liquer. There may have been one or two more that I'm forgetting, but all were tasty. They then had a bar where you could order a drink made with their booze and hang out while you enjoy it. I had a Manhattan, and it was strong. A very tasty drink with a super fancy cherry in it. I would recommend anyone in the area swinging by.

The tasting is fun but don't forget to hit up the bar. The mixed drinks are amazing!!!! Buying their spirits seems pretty pricey... but we ordered drinks, played euchre and had a blast there!

This is a free spirits tasting. You can choose five off of their list to try. The presentation was good and the service was friendly. We ended up ordering drinks after. The have a fair size list that they make with their own alcohol. Definitely worth the stop if you are going around the peninsula. It was a a nice change from wine at that point in the day.

Omg......yum yum yum! The tastings are great and when you move to the bar area, James will mix you some of the best drinks you ever had! Will definitely make this a must do every time we're in the area!

Excellent array of locally distilled spirits. Free tastes. A bar with a very good selection of strong drinks. A good place to have a drink, then take a bottle home. Very pleasant upbeat staff. The owners are usually close by and happy to talk about distilling good spirits

As an irregular spirit drinker I don't feel fit to rank it 5 stars. The gin was complex, the vodka delicious (horseradish vodka that was surprisingly good). The service very friendly - I even got them to invent a type of drink for me - the dark russian (see pic) - local dairy chocolate milk to boot.

Not content with producing some decent wines, Michiganders are branching out into distilling spirits, too. This is one of two in the area; the other's in Leland, and both make some excellent whiskeys, vodkas, and now, gins. Very friendly staff, a great logo, and nice ambience in the tasting room. The still itself is a site to see - and is a definite guy magnet, as one of the other patrons and I joked after a few sips. A great addition to the M-22 scene.
